Hosting Help: Add Your New Email Address to Outlook (Not Express)

Step 1:   Open Outlook (Hint: Windows XP, Start/Programs/Microsoft Office/Microsoft Office Outlook)

Please note this tutorial is based on Windows XP Pro with Outlook 2003.  Your operating system and Outlook version may be different, resulting in different screen images, navigation structure, and directions, however the basic concept is the same.  You need to find the account consule, add a new account and make sure you have added all the information contained in this tutorial.

Step 2:   Open the accounts control panel by clicking on "Tools/Email Accounts"

 

 

Step 3:   Add a new mail account by clicking on "Add a new e-mail account " in the pop up window.  Then click Next.

 

 

Step 4:   In the "Server Type " window, select POP3 and then click on Next.

 

 

Step 5:   Next add Your Name (this is the name that appears in the from column in your inbox), E-mail Address, User Name (this is your email address), Password, and mail.yourdomain.com for both the Incoming and Outgoing servers, and then click More Settings...

 

 

Step 6:   Next on the More Settings General Tab enter you email address in the Mail Account name, your name or organization name in the Organization box, and your email again in the Reply E-mail box.

 

 

Step 7:   Next click on the Outgoing Server tab, place a checkmark next to "My outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication" and click the OK button.

 

 

Step 8:   Click "Next" to continue .

 

 

Step 9:   Click "Finish" and you're done.

 

Congratulations!   You have successfully set up your new email address with Outlook.
